Walk the Yorkshire Dales, Enjoy a Stay in a 19th Century Wensleydale Farmhouse
Thorns, the perfect holiday accomodation in Wensleydale, is a 19th Century farmhouse outside Hawes, North Yorkshire, nestling in a hamlet of dales houses and converted barns: Thorns Barn, Thorns Eastern House (a beautiful listed building dating back earlier than Thorns) and Hollyhock Cottage.
This charming, traditional farmhouse, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, enjoys a beautiful, peaceful location with spectacular views stretching across the Dale over open countryside. The bustling town of Hawes, with its Tuesday market, banks, shops, restaurants and pubs is just a 10 minute walk away from the house.
Thorns is a lovely farmhouse, tastefully furnished and well equipped, providing spacious holiday accommodation for visitors to the spectacular beauty of Wensleydale. The house is fully modernised and yet retains the old character and charm that it has brought with it through its 200 year history. Open fires and superb pitch pine staircase all speak of this journey through history.
There are numerous walks and more rugged rambles that can be made from the house itself, making this is an ideal base for the ambler, rambler and serious walker. There are other attractions too, to visit in the immediate area, not least of which, the Wensleydale Creamery, which will enchant you with its creative Wensleydale Cheese range, the restored Gayle Mill and the Hawes Ropemakers.
